Background:

Dimitry wuchs in einem Waisenheim auf: sein Vater fiel in einem der vielen Kriege gegen Großbritannien, seine Mutter starb kurz nach seiner Geburt. Er hat dunkle Erinnerungen an seine Geschwister, zwei Brüder und eine Schwester. Mit 16 Jahren schloß er sich der Armee an und wurde bei Kampfhandlungen gegen Großbritannien und das osmanische Reich eingesetzt, unter anderem auch in Rumänien und Bulgarien. Dort kam er in Kontakt mit übernatürlichen Wesen und verlor fast sein Leben. Eine Gruppe Ripper rettete ihn und verpflanzte ihm seine Rippertechs. Nach seiner Rückkehr nach Russland begleitete er für mehrere Jahre einen Wissenschafter nach Sibirien, der übernatürliche Phänomene verfolgte. Nach etwa 20 Jahren verließ er die russische Armee und ging nach London, wo er sich den dortigen Rippers anschloß ...
